Friendship Force of Memphis
Friendship Force of Memphis is a chapter of Friendship Force International, based in Atlanta, Georgia.
We were chartered in 1982. Since then, we have made over 50 journeys, or exchanges.
What are exchanges and ambassadors? Our mission is to promote global understanding across the barriers that seperate people. A world of friends is a world of peace!
Exchanges/Journeys are the mutual trips between the worldwide Friendship Force Communities. Ambassadors are the people to spread friendship.
The Friendship Force of Memphis Community
Memphis is located on the Mississippi River.
It has a population of 633,104 as stated in the 2020 census.
Discover by Spanish conquistador Hernando de Soto in 1541.
Its early wealth came from cotton grown in the nearby Mississippi River Delta. Today, it serves as a distribution center where FedEx was founded, making Memphis the world’s busiest cargo airport.
Other fame is being know as the BBQ capital, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and not to forget that Elvis Presley’s home, Graceland is a major attraction.
